As a mom who is at home all day with my children, it sometimes seems my days blend together. It’s the same routine over and over again.
If you are a SAHM you know exactly what I mean.
I begin to question if there is a point in getting ready for the day if no one outside of my immediate family is going to see me. I start questioning if it even matters whether or not I wash my face.
When I start letting go of one thing after another, I find myself feeling unmotivated and in a funk.
It is then that I realize I NEED to prioritize taking care of myself to be the mama and wife I want to be.
That is why I created a non-negotiable daily checklist for myself. It consists of “self-care” tasks I have to complete every day. Regardless of the weather, how I’m feeling, etc.
Sometimes we need a bit of discipline and go through the motions of doing certain things before we actually start to FEEL better.
Here is my self-care daily checklist as a SAHM:
- Go outside – this can be just for 5 minutes on the front porch with a coffee in hand!
- Make a gratitude list – a powerful tool to stay healthy mentally!
- Eat a protein-based breakfast – this will help keep those sugar cravings away.
- Oral hygiene
- Get dressed
- 10-minute exercise – committing to just 10 minutes a day is what helps me stay consistent.
- Skincare
- Read God’s Word – sometimes it’s a couple of verses and sometimes its a few chapters. God’s word is powerful and truly makes a difference in my day!
- Take supplements
- Drink 8 glasses of water
